Salt Room Cabins with HaloGenerator

Spa Quality HaloTherapy in the Comfort of Your Home

Salt Room Cabins are a form of active salt therapy and are growing increasingly popular. They promote better breathing and clearer skin. Salt Room Therapy uses a HaloGenerator to create a dry mist of microscopic salt particles in the surrounding area. When inhaled, these microscopic salt particles attract moisture in the lungs, diluting mucus concentrations so they may be expectorated more easily. This can provide relief from asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, COPD and other respiratory conditions. When this salt mist comes in contact with the body, the natural anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and astringent properties of salt result in healthier skin appearance and reduces the inflammation that contributes to acne, psoriasis and eczema.

Salt Room Cabins

While the dry salt mist is beneficial to our bodies, it is not good for electronics, carpets, sofas or other room surfaces. For this reason, Sauna Zen makes self-contained, enclosed salt rooms from Canadian cedar wood cabinets. While you cannot see the dry salt mist dispersed by the halogenerator as the particles are too small, over time these particle will fall from the air and accumulate. This can be problematic to clean up and can wreak havoc with electronic gear.

The salt cabin itself consists of a large, Canadian white cedar cabinet with a glass door and is available in two sizes: two person and four person.   This cabinet creates an enclosed space, or room, isolating your salt room from the room it resides in from the salt mist, while maximizing your exposure to the dry salt mist’s therapeutic benefits.

The HaloGenerator is the heart and soul of salt room therapy.  At Sauna Zen, we offer three sizes of halogenerators.  Our medium size halogenerator, which is included in your Sauna Zen salt room cabin can cover an area up to 180 square feet which is more than sufficient dry salt mist coverage for any of our four sizes of self-contained salt rooms.

We also offer a larger, wall mounted halogenerator which provides dry salt mist coverage for large rooms up to 580 square feet (approximately 24’ x 24’) as well as a mini portable HaloGenerator

The Sauna Zen HaloGenerators come completely programmed with three pre-set option for salt mist flow and ease of operation. The system is simple to use—just add the supplied pharmaceutical grade Himalayan salt to the salt hopper, choose your salt flow mode and sit back while you enjoy your Dry Salt Mist HaloTherapy session.  NOTE:  Always use pharmaceutical grade salt when using a halo generator as it is the only salt that will 100% dissolve in water and not remain in your lungs.

Salt Room Cabins

At Sauna Zen we define salt room therapy as an active form of wellness. Salt room therapy consists of inhaling a dry salt mist, created by a HaloGenerator, in a closed environment. This therapy relies on the anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and astringent properties of salt to perform a “deep cleaning” of the lungs.

You certainly can create a salt room in your home. Sauna Zen offers several products that can help you create your very own, custom salt room. The main consideration you need to take into account is where to place your salt room—salt room therapy (halotherapy) depends on inducing a dry mist of microscopic salt particles into the air. While this mist is beneficial to both your respiratory system and your skin, it can damage electronics and can be a pain to clean up if it gets into carpets or upholstery. Sauna Zen offers self-contained, enclosed salt rooms for this very reason.

We recommend two the three sessions per week, with each session lasting around 45 minutes to an hour.  If you notice beneficial results from this schedule, you might consider increasing the number of weekly sessions to see if there is an increase in the benefits.  Conversely, if you experience any discomfort, cut back on the number of weekly sessions.

Salt Therapy is said to benefit many respiratory conditions due to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and astringent properties.  These include:

  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • COPD
  • Snoring
  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Emphysema
  • Sinusitis

Salt Therapy is said to benefit many skin conditions due to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and astringent properties.  These include:

  • Acne
  • Dermatitis
  • Dry and Flaky Skin
  • Eczema
  • Rosacea
  • Psoriasis

Sauna Zen defines a salt room or a salt cabin as an enclosed space into which a dry mist of microscopic salt particles is dispersed by using a HaloGenerator. This dry salt mist makes use of salt’s natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and astringent properties. When inhaled, this dry salt mist can clear out the airway passages of the respiratory system. Externally, this dry salt mist can promote healthier skin.

While you can wear anything you want in a salt room or salt cabin, be advised that the salt mist will land on your clothing and can cause stains.  Additionally, for your skin to receive the natural benefits of salt it needs to be exposed to the dry salt mist of the salt room.  Clothing gets in the way of this.

Years ago, people who suffered from asthma and other respiratory ailments often moved to the desert as they found the dry, warm climate made it easier to breathe. Salt rooms work in much the same way to lessen the symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, COPD and emphysema.

Eating too much salt has been linked to high blood pressure. Salt therapy involves inhaling a dry salt mist. Eating salt involves the digestive tract. Inhaling salt involves the respiratory tract. It makes sense that there’s a difference, but as always with medical issues, we strongly advise you consult your doctor, especially if you suffer from high blood pressure.
